Like the silkworm you have built a cocoon around yourself. Who will save you? Burst your own cocoon and come out as the beautiful butterfly, as the free soul. – Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902) delivered originally in New York - 1896

Question: "Are you a chiropractor?"
Answer: I get this question asked quite regularly. Understandably so, since we all want to associate something new with something we are familiar with. A chiropractor works with bone and will adjust specific vertebrae in the spinal column. This usually takes from 10 to 30 minutes. The use of instruments may be utilized to prevent too much force.
What clients frequently tell me is they had chiropractic done on their horse but it didn’t hold. This has nothing to do with the skill of the chiropractor but rather a lack of understanding of the role of chemically stored muscle memory and associative memory in effecting permanent change. Although the profound effects of both have been well documented in science, this is not knowledge that most veterinarians have. If these items are not addressed, the body, just as our posture, will revert to habit in motion which then “conforms” the skeletal system. This is an overly simplified explanation and doesn’t begin to address all of the many factors (injury, etc.) of what “conforms” a horse’s body.
Quantum Bodywork (QB) can effect permanent change in the body because it addresses not only the skeletal mal alignment present but also the muscle memory and associative memory, which through the pineal gland in the midbrain is constantly replaying the past. QB brings everything into alignment and balance, physically, mentally and emotionally, so that the ultimate healing device, the body, can heal.
The Power of Massage in Wound Healing
After sewing up a ragged fence wound on Louie’s rear leg, I returned two weeks later to recheck, only to find the wound covered with exuberant granulation (the tissue that fills in when healing). I have to admit to being awed at what to me was miraculously quick healing on such a nasty wound, the likes of which I have never seen in 27 years of practice. This healing wound looked like a wound 4 to 6 weeks post injury, not 2 weeks. The healing tissue had over healed; the body didn’t know when to stop. I had asked the owner to do some simple massage to increase circulation and lymph flow to the area. Take a look at the amazing results: (see video)
Quantum Bodywork
Training problem? Behavior problem? Pain issue from improper body alignment? You decide the answer after watching this before and after Quantum bodywork video of Emit, an 8 year old Hanoverian eventer. The second part is immediately following the 1 ½ hour bodywork session.
Cocoa Mulch Poisoning in Dogs—An Unexpected Poison
Most of you have probably heard that feeding chocolate to your pet could have serious health repercussions. So you make sure that temptation is out of reach by putting the chocolate cake in the refrigerator and hiding the chocolate bar (what's left of it anyway) into the candy drawer. What about other potential sources of cocoa poisoning?
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) investigated claims made by dog owners whose pets had died after ingesting cocoa mulch. Produced from cocoa bean shells, this mulch contains both caffeine and Theobromine, the same culprits responsible for chocolate's toxicity to dogs. However, the concentration of Theobromine in cocoa mulch far exceeds that of regular chocolate. According to the ASPCA website, a 50 lb. dog would need to ingest 7.5 ounces of chocolate before suffering any gastrointestinal upset, while just 2 ounces of cocoa mulch could lead to vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain. After eating 5 ounces of cocoa mulch, this same 50 lb. dog could go into seizures. 9 ounces is the amount at which a dog risks the serious chance of death. Most cocoa mulch companies do not print warnings on their product packaging, so please spread the word to your fellow dog owners.
